The AGROLAB GROUP and its laboratory AGROLAB LUFA GmbH in Kiel use a highly sensitive procedure based on real-time PCR technology that can reliably, accurately and inexpensively measure GMO contamination in feed. AGROLAB LUFA is a traditional feed institute with years of experience in GMO analysis.

GMO analysis

Reliable GMO analysis depends on many different factors (for example the type of sample, the customer's production methods, etc.). A number of different strategies can therefore be used to reach reliable and useful findings. We would be happy to explain these strategies in a personal conversation using a detailed flow chart.

The fundamental procedure for GMO analysis is as follows:

  1. Screening: provides the first indications of genetically modified material in feed
  2. Identification of "GMO events" that allow the exact definition of the GMO in question (types not authorised in the EU such as rice Bt63 and flax CDC Triffid only need to be identified, as zero tolerance applies).
  3. Quantification of the events (quantification can be required for types with EU authorisation in order to meet declaration obligations).
