Since its foundation in 2017, the agricultural laboratory has been a partial member of the Federal of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations (FOSFA). Full membership was applied for in summer 2020 and recently confirmed by the FOSFA committee through a successfully completed round robin test.

 

The FOSFA is a trade association for the worldwide trade of oils, oilseeds and fats with headquarters in London. Its members include producers, traders, transporters and regulators. About 85% of the international trade in oils and fats is carried out under FOSFA contracts.

 

Assured quality through regular round robin tests

The Federation has established corresponding guidelines and seals, which are also used in analysis, in order to ensure the high quality of the products. The member laboratories prove their competence by regularly taking part in international round robin tests and are allowed to issue FOSFA-sealed reports.

In October 2020, the FOSFA Committee confirmed the AGROLAB Agrarzentrum as one of 50 laboratories worldwide. This gives the Leinefelde laboratory further privileges in issuing FOSFA-sealed reports.

 

FOSFA sealed reports

The agricultural center in Leinefelde analyses your oilseed samples within the framework of FOSFA membership:

  • Oil content, dry matter, impurities, FFA in rape seed and other oilseeds
  • Erucaic acid content in oilseeds
  • Fatty acid composition in oilseeds

In addition to the FOSFA-sealed reports for oil content results, we will provide further sealed reports in future as a full member of the FOSFA:

  • On customer request, we can issue reports with NMR results in addition to sealed test results of Soxhleth extraction results. The advantages of this procedure for the customer are shorter sample throughput times and a lower cost factor due to better utilization of our analysis capacities.
  • Sealed test reports also for crude protein and Kjeldahl analysis results in oilseeds
  • FOSFA-sealed findings in GC analyses: (erucic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid)
