Groundnuts

With the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/24, the Commission reinforced the conditions for the import of the following products:

  • Groundnuts from Brazil (food and animal feed)
  • Capsicum annuum and nutmeg (spices) from India
  • Nutmeg from Indonesia (spices)

All deliveries of such products from the stated countries require a health certificate as of 2 February 2016. It must be stated in such certificate that the products have been tested for aflatoxins and that the results of the analysis are within the legally permitted limits. The analysis results must also be included in the delivery.

Small consignments with a weight of 20 kg or less are exempted from this regulation. The Regulation 2016/24 takes effect on 2 February 2016 and is valid from that date. Deliveries that have left the country of origin prior to 2 February 2016 are not yet subject to a health certificate.

Transitional arrangements apply to such deliveries.
