Several regulation changes have been reported and were set in force during the past weeks that we like to point your attention to.

In the last month several changes of MRLs have been published:

Tricyclazol

MRLs have been reduced from 0,05 to LOQ of 0,01 mg/kg except for mushrooms and fresh herbs where it was reduced to 0,02 mg/kg valid from June 30th for fruit and vegetable without transition phase

Fluopyram, (Nicotine and profenophos)

MRLs have been reduced for Flupyram for Solanaceae, florence fennel, sweet corn, celery stalks, cardoon, and other fruiting vegetables from 0.1 mg/kg to LOQ level of 0,01 mg/kg. For borecole, turnips and watecress it remains at 0,1 mg/kg.

Hexachlorcyclohexane (HCH)

Change of residue defintion: “Sum of isomers except gamma-HCH” will be deleted; MRL for alpha-HCH, beta HCH and gamma HCH (Lindane) will be reduced to LOQ-level for each isomer to 0,01 mg/kg (valid from 4.1.2018)

Dimethoat / Omethoat

MRLs for Dimethoate have been reduced to LOQ level of 0,01 mg/kg for many fruits and vegetables with only a few exceptions. The residue definition has been changed. The previous sum value Dimethoate + Omethoate will be replaced by single MRLs for ach active substance, MRL for Omethoate is set to 0,01 mg/kg too wwith a few exceptions only. These changes will become active in 6 months i.e. from 17.1.2018 !

Several MRLs have been also increased by new EU commission.valid from July 11th !

Benzovindiflupyr

MRL was raised from 0,01 mg/kg for pome fruit to 0,2 mg/kg, for potato from 0,02, for tomato and egg plants to 0,7 mg/kg, peppers, okra, 1 mg/kg

Deltamethrin

MRL was raised from 0,01 mg/kg to 0,3 mg/kg for Velery, fennel and rhubarb

Ethofumesat

MRL was raised from 0,1 mg/kg for beet root to 0,2 mg/kg and for beet leaves from 0,03 mg/kg to 0,3 mg/kg

Haloxyfop

MRL was raised from 0,01 mg/kg for parsley root and leek to 0,09 mg/kg

Oxathiapiprolin

MRL was raised from 0,01 mg/kg for grapes to 0,7 mg/kg, for melons(Kiwano) to 0,15 mg/kg

Penthiopyrad

MRL was raised from 0,01 resp. 2 mg/kg to 4 mg/kg for apricots and peaches

Pyraclostrobin

MRL was raised from 0,02 mg/kg to 0,6 mg/kg for beans and peas (with pods), peas (without pods) to 0,15 mg/kg
for celeriac from 0,3 mg/kg to 0,5 mg/kg, for celery (stalks) from 0,02 mg/kg to 1,5 mg/kg, for spinach from 0,5 to 0,6 mg/kg, for witloof from 0,02 mg/kg to 0,09 mg/kg

Spirotetramat

MRL for pommegranate was raised to 0,5 mg/kg from previously 0,1 mg/kg

Tolclofos-methyl

MRL was raised from 0,01 mg/kg to 0,2 mg/kg for potatoes
